Have you ever purchased software and been let down by the user- manual or online help?
Have you ever developed your own software and left the manual until the end of the development cycle only to find you don't have enough time to produce a quality manual or well documented online help?
These are common problems. In fact, some organisations take delivery of software and deploy it across the organisation without any user-manuals or online help at all. Inevitably this leads to frustration and anger. When the user can't achieve what they want in the software they think the software is lacking.
At Communication Wise we have worked on a number of projects in which the online help or user-manual was written restrospectively (after the software was deployed).
