Communication Wise is owned and operated by Liz Griffiths. Liz has over 25 years experience designing public-use information – from paper-based policies and forms to online content. With a background in journalism and communication – as well as web development – Liz has a deep understanding of information, communication and technology.
As a senior information designer at NRMA, Liz played a major role in improving NRMA’s policy documents and forms, by making the language and structure of the documents more coherent and readily understood. The clarity of the final documents was the result of applied qualitative research (also referred to as usability testing).
As the National Manager of Commonwealth Bank’s Documentation Unit, Liz applied the same qualitative research to impact some of the bank’s most widely used documents – including many of the bank’s forms and their customer statements (such as the Home Loan Statement, Demand Deposit Statement, Term Deposit Statement). These documents remain virtually unchanged to this day and have stood the test of time.
As a consultant to government departments and large corporations, Liz has had an impact on the usability of both paper-based and online public-use information.
